"I Can't Have You" was inspired by a young man's youthful longing for a love interest that he just can't have. It features a haunting feel with some musical gems that will give you chills! It's a DANCE SONG, so crank it up and cut a rug!
I wrote this song for my lovely wife, Suzi, when we were dating. It features all 3 of our children singing on it. My dear friend and Disclaimers bandmate Tim Pederson plays drums for me on this song. Share this song with someone you love!

I'm so excited about this song! I wrote it in the early days when I first moved to Boston, just starting grad school, trying to stay faithful to my long-distance girlfriend, fall turning to winter, and the constant excitement and...stimulation, if you will, of "slipless situations" distracting me from "what that moment in time at the end of the line" would reveal. Listen to this song and you can almost feel the cool autumn-winter Boston air cutting through you. Lots of lush harmonies, immersive synths, and a beat that makes you know you're going somewhere! The bonus file ad ("a slipless situation ad1.mp4") is super cool, the start of a video for this song, and is included below.
I sing with my 29-year-old self on this song--see if you can guess which parts are me then & now!
I've been meaning to do this for awhile now, this is how I always wanted this song to sound--and there's a little surprise for you at the end of my keyboard lead--enjoy!
This song is about an old girlfriend...who didn't understand!
